The scanner will work on any USB port because USB 2.0 is
backward compatible. To check your system's actual speed,
look in device manager to see the hardware/driver specs.
The BIOS also probably must be set to the proper speed if
your USB is on the motherboard.
You can add a USB 2.0 PCI card if your present USB is 1.1.
(You can get a combo card with USB 2.0 and Firewire).
Also, you can use the Bel Arc Advisor
www.belarc.com to see
a report on your hardware/software. AIDA32 also reports
details of the system.
