We have a work computer running Windows XP and IE6. Come to work this
morning and now have the MySpace toolbar on it. Nobody has admitted to it so
it is now time to do some investgiation. Since this computer has multiple
users, how can I find out who and when it was installed?

Thanks,

Brendan

You did not say if it is XP PRO or XP HOME EDITION. The Pro has more options for policy control.

But I would say your best bet now, for company morale, etc. is to just remove the toolbar and tell
the users what your policy on the computer is. It the policy is breached again, then it would be
time to look at discipline. From an old retired manager.

It is XP Pro. No discipline will result from this, but a strong counseling
session for not being truthful about it will definitely take place. We
already have a policy about Web usage and the installation of third party
programs like toolbars, etc.

check the program folder to see the date and time of creation might give a clue.
