I can't seem to download my web for use later if my PC should fail. All
attempts so far result in a non-editable copy (as published) but the copy
cannot be edited.

Can you provide the steps you are taken to download

I have tried to [copy] and then [paste] the web with no successful result. I have also tried to move the web file (via [explore] tp the CD in again with no successful result. I've tried RWCD and also RW CD. The file that resukts on the CD cannot be edited.

Files burned to a CD are automatically marked as "Read only" by the system.
You will have to browse to the web files using Windows Explorer and remove the read only
attributes from each file.

You can use Croa to remove read only from a folder.

Steve: I downloaded and applied CROA to the copy on mt CD. However, as
previously, when attempting to open the downloaded folder/file(s). a message
appears as:
Server Error: Cannot open file Service.lck for
writing

WILL APPRECIATE ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS! ray miller

You cannot edit files that are actually on a CD - copy them to a folder on
your hard drive, then apply Croa, then open the web with FrontPage.
