How can I display the users when the machine comes up?

Hi!

After giving up on Vista, I reinstalled windows XP Professional. I added
users. But when the machine comes up, it asks for a user id password. I used
to see a list of users displayed when the computer first powers up and
everytime, I logged out I saw the same screen.

How can I get this screen?

I made my user account part of the Administrators group but windows update
does not run properly. I have to sign in as Administrator to make that
successful.

Open the Control Panel and and select "User Accounts" and then "Change the
way users log on and off". Check the box that says "User the Welcome screen"
and then click on "Apply Options".
