Our infosec policies require that "Windows 2000 domain controllers and
servers will utilize NTFS version 5"

How can I determine this?

Windows 2000 upgrades all NTFS partitions to NTFS 5 the first time it mounts
the partition.

If it's an NTFS partition and it's ever been mounted by Win2K, it's NTFS 5.

Doug,

Thank you so much for responding. Are you aware of any MS literature that
can substantiate that? I am picking up the same thing but it is not
explicit anywhere. Thanks again for your input!

This was a big issue early on in the NT5 beta where folks were attempting to
dual boot and getting problems with version incompatibility. I remember
many responses from MS folks on the beta groups regarding this issue at the
time.

It might be mentioned in the Windows 2000 server resource kit file systems
section.
