how can i delite file names from word

I have delited file and it is gone but when I click on files the name of file
I delited is still there.How can I delite the old file names?

Please scroll down the list of newsgroups and find a Word newsgroup
for this question; the "Access" in the name of this group refers to
the database program Microsoft Access, not general access to
computers.
