How can I delete old calendar items?

I have set Autoarchive in Tools to archive every 1 day. I have set Calendar
Properties archive to remove items older than 2 weeks and to permanently
delete old items. I have told the Archive item under File to ignore the "Do
not archive" flag and I still have items in my calendar from last year. What
else do I need to do?

Check the Modified date on the items that aren’t being archived as you think
they should. That’s the date Outlook uses to determine whether or not an
item is ready to be AutoArchived, and a simple action such as moving the item
to another folder can change the Modified date. More information and a list
of actions that change the Modified date can be found here:

Jocelyn: Thanks for the info but the modified date for the three that I
sampled again indicate months old items. I opened an appointment, clicked on
View, Properties, and confirmed the Modified Date. Some are as far back as
2004. Any other thoughts?

are they recurring items?

When you opened the item, you changed the modified date. A better way to
view this is to display your calendar in category view, add the modified
date via Field Chooser and then sort by the modified date.

A reply to the two previous posts: Opening the three sample items may have
changed their modification date but the point is that these three did have
very old modification dates before I did this. I assume from these three
sampled items that most, if not all, of the other old items do have dates
older than two weeks ago. The second answer is no, they are not recurring
items. One time appointments.

By the way, this is for Outlook 2000. Another interesting piece to this is
that when I print a monthly calendar with both the "previous" and "next"
months small calendars, the "previous" month is always the same as the
"current" month.

Other thoughts?

On the calendar thumbnails, it's not previous and next, it's this month and
next, so that is correct.
