I would like to be able to create meetings or block off time in my calendar
through an open Task Manager window, so that the meeting is linked to my
task. Ideally I would like to create all my meetings through "Tasks" so that
I can track the task to completion in Task manager and the tallied hours.
Addtionally upon completion, I would like to be able to retrieve that task
and associated meetings/time blocks I created to achieve completion.

You would be better served using the Journal function to achieve what you
want to do. You can, obviously, drag tasks to the calendar and calendar
items to the tasks folder, but using the Activities tab on contacts that you
have set to journal would unify the entire tracking process.
