I have some presentation slides prepared in Harvard Graphics with file
extension .ch3. Is there any device that would allow me to open these files
in PowerPoint 2003?

Some older versions of PPT could open Harvard Graphics files (and I'm pretty
sure it was the CH3 format they could open). That feature's not available in
current versions. I'm not sure when it went away but if you have access to an
earlier version of PPT, you could try it there.

If it's just a few charts, I might be able to help. I've got some of the
earlier versions installed and could have a look. Let me know how many you
have and how large a set of files they make when zipped.

Thanks for your information. Indeed, using past versions of PPT I was able
to access the files with .ch3 extensions. However, I no longer have access
to older versions of PPT. I have "zipped" the files that I have on two
floppy discs. The size of the two zipped files is 135KB and 137 KB
respectively. Each file contains about 100 .ch3 files of single charts. Can
you help?

Best regards,

I'm not sure, but at those file sizes, I'm willing to have a look.

Sorry if I posted this twice. I'm new here. I did this 2 years ago
for a client but I had to by Harvard Graphics for Windows. It opened
the CH3 files than it could save them as ppt's. I missed the old dos
version of HG it was PowerPoint before PowerPoint!

Flodur sent me his files and I was able to open them all and resave them as PPTs
using PowerPoint 2000.

It was even kind enough to tell me "Sorry, you don't have that feature
installed. Would you like to install it now?" when I first tried. I said yes,
it did, and from there on in, it worked a treat.

HG DOS did have some cool features and it flew. OTOH, if you were in the slide
biz, it was a real problem child.
