Since, i believe, installing a windows update I have been unable to ungroup
objects in powerpoint. Specifically I have been unable to convert graphs from
excell into drawings that I can edit in powerpoint.

Hi,

Hi,

Do you simply ungroup them? Else, can you cut and paste back as a wmf, then
try to ungroup them? Remember to keep a copy of your data!

That's what I have done in the past, but since the service pack instalation
the ungrouping results in the object remaining as an excel object. The same
occurs if I paste it as a wmf, emf or even as a jpg. It pastes, but is still
an excel object. Most perpelxing

Hi,

When you paste, do you get a little Smart tag allowing you to select the
paste type (from memory)? Else, I'll have to defer to some one who has 2003
installed. Although, on a test file I wonder if the following code would
work?

I dont get a smart tag, i have to 'edit-paste special'.
I'll try out the code, but it might take me a while to figure out how to use
it.
Thanks

Hi,

Don't bother with the code. Will have to wait for someone who can figure
this out better.

HI,
I have found a way around the problem- I hadn't (as you suggested) tried
pasting as a wmf, and this works ok.
I am in the habit of using emf for this function. If you have any idea why i
cant paste as emf any more I'd be very interested to know.
