How can i convert a wmv file to mpeg or mpg file?

I know about mpeg encoder but i know squat about how it works. I have the roxio video software but it doesn't understand wmv file format...so is there a way i can do this

One way is to go to OSS.com and try their format converter.They have a trial
version but if you want to keep it you have to pay.
