Is it possible to make a movie in Moviemaker and convert it so others can
view it in other formats, such as Windows Media Player, etc etc??? I;'ve
tried to save it and open it in WMP, but no such luck.

Thanks

Steve

Saving it as a WMV file will mean all folks with either WMPv9 or earlier
versions with the addition of WMV 9 codecs should have no problems in
playing it.

You can also save as DV-AVI... but remember this will produce a LARGE
file... 12gb for each hour (approximately) of video.

You probably saved the MM2 project file .MSWMM rather than saving out a
"movie" file .WMV or .AVI

try File | Save Movie File...

You misunderstand my problem. When I try to save it either to the computer
or email, it will not save it.

Since I made the video in Windows Movie Maker program, I do not see an
option to save it in any other format. The Save Movie Wizard will not let me
save it. It prompts that there isn't enough space. It is not a large file,
only 9 still pictures. WHY????

The Windows prompts reads: "Windows Movie Maker cannot save the movie to the
specified location. Verify that the original source files used in your movie
are still available, that the saving location is still available, and that
there is enough free disk space available, then try again."

I have plently of disk space available. Even if I try to save it as a dial
up file with 305 KB. And I have estimated disc space available of 17.39 GB,
it still gets the same above prompt.

What is going on here? Please help. I'm stumped.

More information is needed to figure out what your
problem is.
Is the movie you want to save on the time line or
storyboard?
Are all the clips on your hard drive?
On the save movie wizard page 1 what shows in the choose
location box?
On page 3 what format is selected?
What shows in the Movie file size block?
Do you have any other programs running?

I've seen that message on my own PC.... turned out there was a single frame
in a 15gb movie that was corrupt.

I solved it by splitting the movie into multiple sections and saving each
one to find out which clip was causing the problem. Took a few days to find
the offending clip... and then even longer to find out which particular part
of it that was the problem, but once I'd edited out that part, all was good.

I tried to save even one of the photo files and I get the same prompt.

"Windows Movie Maker cannot save the movie to the
specified location. Verify that the original source files used in your movie
are still available, that the saving location is still available, and that
there is enough free disk space available, then try again."

Something is very strange here. Please help, anyone.
