I've still got the same problem : No answers?

Here's the problem :-

My work laptop (Win2000) is configured to connect to the office's network.
When I get home I would like this laptop to connect to my home network (4
computers using WinXP Pro over an ADSL router). How do I configure the
laptop to access this SECOND network without ruining my office network
connection?

My office network is a Workgroup called OFFICE and doesn't have a Domain
Name
My home network is called HOME and doesn't have a Domain Name.

Thanks in advance
Steve

There are programs that can staore/retreive/apply mutliple network
configurations. Netswitcher is one of them. If your wife's notebook is a
toshiba it may have come with one. I have toshiba 2410 and it has one fo
these programs.

Good Luck
Bill
All else fails read the instructions.

I've tried Netswitcher and Multinetwork Manager. Either one will work well.
They both have trial versions that you can download for free.
I prefer Multinetwork Manager from http://www.globesoft.com/mnm_home.html

Can you not set up different hardware profiles? One containing the LAN
settings for work and the other containing the settings for home? You
choose which profile to boot with on bootup. This worked in NT4 so I
imagine it should in XP.

Use 2 different network adapters. Configure one for the office and the
other for the home network. They should be on different IP address
ranges. Since you have one built in the laptop you could buy a pc card
network adapter for the other, then which ever network you connect to
will be active and you can have different shared folders for each.
