How can I change an image whit a hyperlink

I need to click on a hyperlink and have an image on the same page change.

Example:

Hyperlink1 is clicked
Image1 changes to Image2

Hyperlink2 is clicked
Image3 changes to Image4

Hyperlink3 is clicked
Image5 changes to Image6

etc....

I have done this experimentally on the following page:

I have used CSS. It's easy, but it will not work on browsers that do not
support background images in tables.
