How can I arrange my thumbnail slides by subjective criteria & pri

I rearranged my slides according to the way I wamt to present them but when I
printed sheets of thumbnails so I could more easily edit the arrangement, the
order in which they were printed was changed! Now I see via the View menu you
are forced to specify attributes like name, date, author, etc. by which the
pictures/icons will be arranged. Is there a default so that I do not have to
accept these attributes but rather have it accept my subjective criteria for
slide arrangement? Thank you.
