I need to send a picture to a friend, but I have no idea how to send it via
email.

Can anyone help?

Right-click on the picture you wish to email and select:
Send To > Mail Recipient

Hit F1, use the provided help to search on attach[ment].

Copy/paste often works, too.

What context menu selections are available when you right-click on the file
in Explorer?

BTW: If you have the time to post here, you have the time to return here to
check for replies.

Start writing a message or do a reply to sender then..

Drag and drop the picture file into the message.

Which I have done, and thank you for the suggestion.

Alan,
Locate the picture on your Hard Drive (usually in My Pictures sub-folder in
My Documents Folder) then right click it.On the subsequent drop down or
flyout menu, left click "Mail Recipient". Outlook Express will open with
your Picture reflected in the Subject Line [not the actual image, just a
title] as an enclosure to your E-Mail. You will have to enter your friends
E-Mail address plus any comments you wish to include in the body of the
mail. BE SURE that the friend can receive attachments.He/She must remove the
check mark from "Do not allow attachments to be,etc" at
Tools/Options/Security to allow that.
