How can I aphabetize a list using Vista?

The directions I got on line said to use the Table icon and there isn't one !
Now what?
 
Assuming you're using Word 2007, select the items you want sorted (they do
not need to be in a table), and click the Sort tool in the Paragraph section
of the Home ribbon tab.
