How can I allow more than 10 users to access a shared folder simultaneously?

I am helping a school with their network. We have 20
computers that need to simultaneously access a folder to
run a keyboarding application. Can anyone tell me if
there is a way to increase the default maximum users. All
of the computers are Windows 2000 professional editon.
please email or post

You need a server version of the OS to allow more than 10 concurrent
services connections. No way around this as the limit is hardcoded into
win2kpro.

Hi Brandon,

If you need more than 10 connections, you will need to use a Windows 2000
Server or a Windows Server 2003 machine. The 10 connection limit is hard
coded into Windows 2000 Professional.

Well, yes, but how long does Win2K wait before the connection is assumed to
be terminated when the "acting as" client(s) closes the folder window?

What I'm getting at is that, although the OP said 20 concurrent
connections", it still might be do-able if only 10 at a time grabbed the
file or whatever.

Perhaps it's a "closed" LAN where the 20 machines are P2P and all login
using the same user/pass, if any?
