How Allow ActiveX Controls

Please help.
I am using AOL but IE shows same symptom

I dont think

anything has changed but now i am getting Windows Internet Explorer
error message says

"One or more ActiveX controls could not be displayed because either:
(1) Your current security settings prohibit running ActiveX controls
on this page, or
(2) You have blocked a publisher of ActiveX controls"

Symptoms are (1) cannot launch Windows Media Player 2 play an
amazon.com sample of music.
(2)My webpage is not showing the RealPlayer controls i have written at
http://hometown.aol.com/gcook888/myhomepage/index.html
(3) My secure school registration page does not load although the
status bar says "Done"

I am a witch and a saint but not understanding the Internet Options
settings in the Control Panel.
Have messed with them some 2 no avail.

1... First, try to clean up your caches, Internet files and delete cookies
by doing this:
Click Start >> Control Panel >> Double click Network and Internet
Connections >> Double click Internet Options.
On the IE properties windows you will see these Taps:
General | Security | Privacy | Content | Connections | Programs |
Advanced
Under General Tab clear your History, Internet Files and Cookies.
Then click on Advanced tab and scroll down to under the Browsing Option:
[&] Browsing
[ ] Enable Third-Party browser extensions (Req Rest) uncheck this box.

[&] HTTP 1.1 Settings
[ ] Use HTTP 1.1
[ ] Use HTTP 1.1 through proxy connections
If you using proxy check the proxy one if not check only the first one.

Then under Security Option:
[&] Security
[ ] Use SSL 2.0
[ ] Use SSL 3.0
[ ] Use STL 1.0
Then click on Programs Tab and click Manage Add-Ons and Disable all non
Verified Add-Ons (You should Renable them later one-by-one and see the
culprit and update it or remove it.

Then download this software and update it then run a scan for malware:
http://www.lavasoft.com/products/ad-aware_se_personal.php

Then Open a run command and type in these DLLs to re-register them:
regsvr32 SOFTPUB.DLL
regsvr32 Wintrust.dll
regsvr32 Mssip32.dll
regsvr32 Initpki.dll
regsvr32 Msjava.dll
regsvr32 Gpkcsp.dll
regsvr32 Sccbase.dll
regsvr32 Slbcsp.dll

Note you can copy the above and paste in a Notepad and Save As on the
Desktop reg.bat file then you can open a run command and type in:
C:\reg.bat click [OK] and then Yes.
Again on the Run command type in:
ipconfig /flushdns click [OK]
ipconfig /renew click [OK]
netsh winsock reset click [OK]
Reboot your machine and see if you can access any website/link easily and
without the cannot connect error message.
If she/He has a Modem/Router Turn OFF the Modem/Router for a minute or so,
turn the Computer OFF also.
Turn the Modem/Router wait a minute for the Sync with the ISP and getting
the IP then Turn the Computer ON and try to establish connection and access
the site/link.

Or:
1= Click start >> Control Panel >> Double Click Network and Internet
Connections >> Double click Internet Options, on the IE Properties window
you will see these Options:
General | Security | Privacy | Content | Connections | Programs
| Advanced .

Click on General Tab (1st Tab on the left) and you will see a Button called
[ Clear History ..] click on it to clear your History caches, then click on
[Delete Files..] to delete Internet Files created over the time, click on [
Delete Cookies...] to delete your cookies left by visiting websites.

Click on Security Tab then on Custom level Button, on the security settings:

( ) Disable

[&] Download unsigned ActiveX Controls
(*) Disable
( ) Enable
( ) Prompt
[*] Intialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as Safe
(*) Disable
( ) Enable
( ) Prompt
[*] Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins
( ) Admin Approved
( ) Disable
(*) Enable
( ) Prompt
[*] Script ActiveX control marked Safe for scripting
( ) Disable
(*) Enable
( ) Prompt

[$] Allow scripting of Internet Explorer Webbrowser control
(*) Disable
( ) Enable

[$] Allow script-initiated windows without size or position constraints
(*) Disable
( ) Enable

scroll down under Miscellaneous Option and check this radio Button:
[&] Miscellaneous
[e] Allow scripting of internet Explorer webbrowser control
(*) Disable check this
( ) Enable
( ) Prompt
Click [OK] to close the Security settings and back on the IE window
properties.
Click on Advanced Tab, then scroll under Browsing and check these boxes:
[&] Browsing
[ ] Enable Third-Party browser extensions (Req Rest) <= uncheck this
[ ] Disable script debugging (internet Explorer)
[ ] Disable Script Debugging (Other)
Uncheck this Box:
[ ] Display a notification about every script error <= Uncheck this box.

Click [OK] to close the IE properties and Hit F5 to refresh.

i did the "or" (custom security settings)

solved 2 of 3 problems...

still the secure NCSU Registration page is blank though status bar
says its done
