I have some questions about hovering.
I added it to the INSERT pulldown, I filled in the options,
linked to a htm page of text in the directory, and when I go
to preview it shows that little NOT THERE icon.
I seem to be missing something here, like turning something
on? I sense that as it needs to be added, it may not be a
very good way of doing things?

And does hovering work okay in Firefox?

Hovering what? Images? What are the exact steps you use to do this? Is
there a URL you can post so we can see what's going on?

This is a reply to "David Berry" <[email protected]> who
probably wont like what I have to say.:

I am working on the site so its not on a server as yet.
I have quite a few instances where I need to present text
lists of TOP TEN THIS and THAT. I would rather have it work
as a HOVER than going to another page of just plain text.
And perhaps a HOVER of a small jpg that hovers into its full
size.

I wish to have a user hover the mouse over a graphic and
have a sound play.
I have added the HOVER BUTTON to the drop down, but nothing
seems to work. Not only is the image replaced by a large
graphic button holder, but the link to the .wav doest work
either. I get that litte NOTHING HERE ico.

There is obviously some simple thing I am missing.

Thanx
RJ

Hover Buttons are Java Applets and the only sound file format that works
with them is .au. You would need to either convert your sound file or use a
different method. You can use JavaScript to play a sound on your site. Try
http://javascript.internet.com for samples.

Thanx! Thats the starting point I was after!

Why wouldn't I like what you have to say? Sounds like you found your
answer. Just use an 8 bit .au file. Although, you really should consider
dumping the hover buttons. Java applets require that the person's PC that's
looking at the site have a Java Virtual Machine (JVM) installed on it.
Since the lawsuit with Sun years ago, Microsoft stopped including their own
JVM with Windows. That means that unless the manufacturer that they bought
the PC from installed on (some do) or the downloaded a JVM from Sun
(http://java.sun.com) then not all visitors to your site will see the
buttons.

Hi David,
I have found this opening sentence on a few posts:
"This is a reply to SOME NAME HERE who probably wont like what I have to
say."

I think it is an automated response.

Whether the poster is always Rack Jite or not, I can't recall :-))

This is the reader I use in political debate areas, and it
usually comes to pass that lots of people wont like what I
have to say. Especially the Freepers! :)

The confusion is that I removed the sig a few months ago.
I put it back. If you hit the URL you will see the reason
for the beginning line. :)
Read the hatemail!!

But that is my old site been running since '96, my questions
here regards a new non political site I am building.

When is Bill coming out with FRONTBLOG? :)
