Some computers do not show up the hover buttons. They show
up only when the web page is downloaded. But, if you
navigate in the web, the buttons disappear, and only you
see a gray shade. We are using Windows 2000 and XP,
Internet Explorer 6
Thank you for your help

Hover buttons require Java Virtual Machine, and
XP machines with IE6 do not have it installed.
It has to be downloaded and installed from Sun Java.

Most people have stopped using Hover Buttons for this reason.

Mat,

The FrontPage hover buttons require that the visitor have a Java Virtual
Machine (JVM) installed on their computer.

Due to a dispute between Microsoft and Sun, many installations of Windows XP
don't have a JVM. This means a potentially large percentage of your
audience won't see the buttons or be able to use the links. Because of
this, the standard advice offered is to not use the Hover buttons at all.

As an alternative, you may want to consider JavaScript (JS) rollovers. The
only thing JS and Java have in common is the name. It doesn't have the same
problem that Java does.

Here's a link to a code generator to help get you started:

Good luck!
