- its a small place that comes under Tandridge, Surrey - didn't think anyone would know it, so I picked the nearest big place :thumb:

The prices are just going crazy in south west london/surrey. I even know people in parts of sussex, kent & hampshire that are still getting clobbered with crazy house prices.:(

How Sad

There is nothing more sad than people who talk about house prices all the time and then seem to think they are rich.
If you sell it you still need to buy another one at the bloated price you quote.

WOW ok you really missed the point didn't you?

Besides, I am 16, thus it is not my house and I cannot sell. Also I would not want to.

True - but this thread was not about boasting about individual house prices - it was merely highlighting a useful website and comparing regional differences.

And your right again about having to buy another house at a similar inflated price - unless you move to Wigan of course:

Wigan
Average Cost: £117,080
Detached: £200,127
Semi-detached: £118,578
Terraced: £87,583
Flat: £113,169

Yep you sure missed the point.

Now on the otherhand with business acumen you could really cash-in IE.

[A] Is 61 years old his partner is the same age both retired and living on a pension and manage quite well, all their children have left home and now cater for themselves, [A] Now has a 4 bedroom house valued at lets say 250k with no mortgage… He decides to sell and then rent a 2-bedroom house at say £240 PCM.

[A] Now has 250k in the bank earning interest, he and his partner’s life expectancy is another 10 years, now you work it out?

Blame escalating house prices on Estate Agents.

They are a whole different sub-species to the human race.

christ! 200 grand for a flat!

Flops: Its funny that prices in Greenwich are more than here, for all types, yet the average cost is less.

Wonder where they get that from

I think its done on quantities Chris - there won't be as many detached houses in Greenwich as where you live, so it changes the averages. :)

Yep, I wondered about the average price as well, it seemed odd, but I think Ian's figured it out.

Strange thing, 20 years ago you couldn't pay people to live in some parts of Greenwich, it was actually considered something of a rough area.

Now all the yuppies are falling over themselves to move in. Beats me
