My personal service provider is the default in outlook express, - usually
Yahoo opens, then Hotmail, then my service provider. But lately it opens in
Hotmail first, and never progresses any further. I have to stop it and go
to tools and click on my service provider. Onced the mail is downloaded,
its ok. Just when I open up the first time in the day. Its only just
started to happen.

I'm a little confused by "...it opens in Hotmail first..." Do you
mean that when you check your email, it checks multiple email accounts
and Hotmail is the first? If you wouldn't mind clarifying a bit, I
could help you better.

Check that "Include this account when receiving mail ..." is checked
on each account. If it is, try removing and adding account again.
