Hotmail blocked

I cannot access my hotmail account from my firefox browser at home. It
may have to do with the cookies. I can get to hotmail on other
computers using firefox. I think it might have to do with rejecting a
cookie somewhere along the line.

I loaded the new MS Internet Explorer to access my hotmail- it was
working fine, but I got a big time virus, so I really don't want to use
the explorer.

I have searched these archives and perhaps my issue is addressed, but
I can't figure it out- I am not a very sophisticated user. Can someone
help me in plain English. Basically, I need to get firefox to open
hotmail to me. I get the sign-in page, but then I cannot get to my
account.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Your surfing/email habits gave you "a big time virus", not IE.

Hi,

That is most unhelpful.

So what more Advice you want more than this, No Info, nothing just not happy.
Instead of being Co-operative and listen to the MVP you argue with him.
You didn't mention what Version of IE (6,Beta7), Beta still under testing
phase so a big mistake for an average user to use it on productive
machine,the lack of configuration for the security options on it (simply
because it new to you) can put you at risk as it happened in your situation.
Please I'm not against you or on the side of the MVP, but this for your
sake!.
Thank you.
Please let us know if you need further help.

Thank you. Yes, it is the Beta version. I was using firefox but had
the hotmail problem- still do - so I installed IE Beta because it has
the Tabs i like so much. But now I get these pop ups- only in
explorer- not in Firefox.

Maybe I should uninstall the Beta IE and then download an older IE. It
will let me get to hotmail, and hopefully be w/o all the pop-ups and
the About:Blank.

Thank you,

Hi lpcsun,
Here is the link which will explain to you how to uninstall IE7 Beta RC1;
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/support/default.mspx
After uninstall IE7 reboot and you will find IE6 is your default web browser.
But if you have a problem look in the Registry for this Clsid (be worn
Edinting the Registry without deleting the right clsid can render your
computer useless) so always save your registry as you can revert back from
the Backup if anything gone bad.
The Clsid in the this KEY;
[ +] HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{c90250f3-4d7d-4991-9b69-ac5c5bc1c2ae6}
Delete the CLSID{} not the which is {c90250f3-4d7d-4991-9b69-ac5c5bc1c2ae6}
as it is for IE7 (credit to MVP Ramesh)
Then run the RUN command and type:
sfc /scannow and get your CD handy to put in the CD ROM if needed and wait
for it to finish .
HTH.
Please let us know your findings.

nass

P.S you saying a lot of Pop-Ups, are you sure your system s clean from
malwares/Viruses and you run up2date AV!.
