When I installed XP hotmail was one of the options as email handler in the
start menu. Since installing outlook it has disappeared from the list of
options. Is there a fix I can use to get it back as an option?

Open Internet Explorer/Tools/Internet Options/programs and
you can set the default email program.

Using the Hotmail web interface for email is a pain in the
ass, Outlook Express is much nicer.

Click: Start
Right-click: Internet Explorer (in the left-hand Start Menu pane)
Select: Internet Options

In the Internet Properties sheet that pops up, click the Programs tab

Beside the E-mail listing, choose Outlook Express (by clicking on the up/down
arrow at the right of the box and selecting "Outlook Express")

Still no luck Hotmail is no longer shown as an option in Internet properties
/ programs. Is the there a fix I can run to bring it back?

The only solution, as I did not want to used system restore has been to
re-install xp. This has worked (I hope).
