hotmail and messenger

When you go to use Hotmail or Messenger there is drop down
box where you enter your e-mail address for identity. So
any one that uses your computer there name will be added
to that list, how do you stop this. When using win98 you
manually sign in and you dont know who's been using the
computer but with winXP you know who uses the computer.
How do you stop this.
