Hotfix Verifier

Hi. I have recently had some problems with my WinXP
system, and have been wondering if I'm up-to-date on the
fixes and service packs. Windows Update doesn't show that
I need any critical downloads, but the Add/Remove
Programs list seems out of whack. Also, everytime I power
up, I get an installation window, saying IE SP1 wants to
be installed -- but, if I try to install it, I get the
report that a more recent version is already installed.
Even so, that installation window keeps popping up (only
when I boot or reboot). Just this morning I stumbled upon
the Hotfix Verification program (Q282784), and thought it
would give me a clue -- but it runs real fast and then
disappears, so I don't know what it is telling me. Can
anyone there tell me more? Thanks so much. Cheryl

In Internet Explorer click Help/About - if SP1 is
installed it will be listed there. For further
information on updates go to the following site,
select 'U' and scroll down to the update section.
