You should not be charged for requesting any existing update that resolves
an issue that was caused by a bug in Microsoft's software.

I was wondering if Microsoft charges for providing the
Windows 2000 Post-Service Pack 4 COM+ Hotfix Rollup
Package 27 mentioned in the following article:

The following is from the KB article:

"Note In special cases, charges that are ordinarily incurred for support
calls may be canceled if a Microsoft Support Professional determines that a
specific update will resolve your problem. The usual support costs will
apply to additional support questions and issues that do not qualify for
the specific update in question."
