Hotfix install fails

Hallo together,

i have a problem with windows update on severall servers. I start windows
update and it seems functioning properly. I can choose and download updates
and it seems to be installing. After the installation it says failed. There
is nothing inside event-log.
1. question: Where can I get more information about the error (error
number?).
2. How can I resolve the problem. Has anybody an idea?

The most likely place to find error codes will be in the .\Windows\Windows
Upate.LOG file. After you determine the error number you can post back here
or check the WU Troubleshooter (from the Help and Support menu on the WU
website) to search for that error number.
