Hotfix 826939 causes driver device error

I have tried to download and install Critical Update
826939 twice. Each time the download is OK but the
installation process starts and then the PC closes
because of a serious drive device error. What is going
on?
 
ED , this seems to be affecting more then one issue....
Im getting video issues in full screen. When i play
certain games , and point to something , the games drop
to the desktop and then minimize.
