Hot swappable disks?

Is there a way to make my removable drives
hot swappable?
Thanks
: -)

More information on your current setup would help. If you have conventional
IDE drives in standard budget type removable drive bays, there is no easy
way to do it. Would need a drive bay designed for hot swapping, where the
key switch removes power from the drive and effectively isolates it.

The drives aren't too cheap, $40, but maybe that's cheap for swappable.
The key does turn off the power. I'm probably wasting time because
the company would have an option for that if it were possible.

Thanks for the help in several forums. I bought an external
case that uses USB2 and firewire. Expensive but I can put
a CD burner or DVD later.
