I have an image of a US map, I have put hot spots on the map so that when
someone clicks on a state it will take them to a specific link. Is there a
way to add color to my hot spots? This is a sales territory map, I would
like each rep to have their own color. Can I fill in the hot spot with a
color?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Can I fill in the hot spot with a

No. Sorry. You would have to do image swaps to bring in an image
displaying the new color. If you slice your map properly, you can probably
get each territory sliced out. How many territories are there?

There are 13 territoires. The image is one I copied of the web of the whole
US. Not sure I can slice up the image. Any other suggestions?

Thanks for the quick response.

Not sure I can slice up the image

Sure you can. Do it in your graphics editor. What do you use?

Can you post a link to the image?

depends on the territorial boundries...it may be pretty tedious to follow
along states boundries

Yes, I think you're right. Perhaps the best solution would be to lay down
the hotspot and use the title attribute to pop up "This is the Southern
Territory" or "This is the Western Territory" as you mouse over them.

I just tried making some different color transparent overlays for Texas and
NM, I think if you're really careful it could be done...but then you'd
still have to do the hotspots too.

Will Spawn do popups from hotspots? Haven't tried Spawn on this machine yet.

That's just a static map, so it'd be simple to do in PS. However, I think
Rob might have a workable idea - the colored overlays. It would just depend
on how much work you wanted to put into it.

Can you make a series of smaller images, each containing a single territory
in the color you want? They can contain other states (they'd have to to be
rectangular)....
