Windows mail does not support this type of accounts. I find it a disadvantage

If you need Hotmail access, get Windows Live Mail. It does everything
Windows Mail does, plus Hotmail compatibility:

do NOT get hotmail LIVE... Or if you have already made that mistake, there
is a lionk on the top right of it where you can go back to using your regular
hotmail access. Unfortunately Live will NOT run through your Vista Mail
either, and only adds a bunch of crap and bloatware that no one wants. When
will microsoft learn that a user wants an email program to read and write
email. No one wants a bunch of spam like msn today or any of that waste of
bandwidth and storage.
As of now, there is no way to access your hotmail through Windows Mail, so
most users are using Thunderbird which is a free program that does not have
ads or spyware, and does connect to hotmail and yahoo.
