Hi everyone, and thanks in advance for any help or advice anyone might have.
One of you guys always seems to have the answer I need!
I'm using a two year old Dell desk top running XP Pro. I just wiped the hard
drive and reinstalled XP due to performance issues (i.e. slow) with the PC
that we couldn't seem to diagnose.
Anyhow, everything is working fine now, all the programs are reloaded and
running, etc. Here's my problem/question:
While I use Outlook daily, I still have an old (circa 1995) calendar program
that I have to use occassionally for certain reasons. Previously, after I
installed this program, I would find the program launch file on my C drive,
right click and open the Properties. Then on the Shortcut tab I would
designate a hot key (i.e. "D") to quickly launch the program by using CTRL +
ALT + D.
Now however, after reinstalling XP and reinstalling the calendar program,
when I open the Properties window for the program there is no Shortcut tab
available. BTW, the calendar program is a Windows program, not a DOS program.
Other than reinstalling XP, this is the same PC and the same XP I was using
before, and I was able to set the CTRL + ALT + D before relaoding XP. Just
for grins, I found the Excel and Word applications on my C drive, opened the
Properties box and they also did not have a Shortcut Key tab.
So I'm wondering if there is some setting in XP that I need to change to
allow Hot Key designations? Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks again for your help,
Jim
