Hi there,

I just put together a Quad Core machine with an Asus P5K-VM mobo and the CPU
is showing 55-59 degrees C.....the fan is on right...

Is this normal for a Quad Core....?

I have another Core Duo that runs at 39 C....that's what I would think the
Quad Core would run at, too....??

Thanks,

Gordon

When in doubt go to the Intel web site where you can find data sheets and
tech specifications on your processor. The "normal" temp can vary widely in
a processor family based on the specific version of the processor involved.

Hi Richard,

Did as you suggested....found the Intel site and specs for temp and it's
specified at 40 C.... So, I flashed the BIOS with the latest and that did
the trick....now showing from 39 to 44 C....a lot better than before...

Thanks,

Gordon
