Hosts file funnies

I have the default host file and I'm trying to block neopets.com

so I've put the entry 127.0.0.1 neopets.com

The funny thing is that this doesn't work (its not blocked) but Google
is?

I've tried restarting the browsers, clearing caches and restarting my
router

Weird
