Does anyone have any step by step instructions on how to
setup your server to host a website. I already have the
domain name. I have setup IIS and think I am real close.
Just missing something.

Is your site working internally?

You said you set up IIS, does that mean that you have installed IIS or that
you have gone through the steps of setting up your properties of the site,
etc.??

Major question for the outside world hitting your site is do you have a Name
Server pointing to your domain name? If you go to www.netsol.com and do a
whois on your domain, what are the NS's listed?

Last thing to think about, if you are hosting this at home, is your ISP
blocking port 80 traffic? If so, you will need to host the site on a
different port (something like 8080), down side to this is that everyone
will have to type the port number instead of the default 80 (like this
www.yourdomain.com:8080).

Good luck,
Randy

You need to contact the company that owns the Internet DNS
server you are using. Most ISP's will have DNS hosting
information. It is usually a small anual fee to host
DNS. There are also plenty of DNS hosting companies that
can be found on the Internet.
