I use FP2003 and have always used 1and1.com. On their website they say the
following:

Currently, you still have the option to publish your website using FrontPage
Extensions. 1&1 will discontinue support for the deprecated FrontPage Server
Extensions. We strongly suggest that you do not use Microsoft Frontpage
Extensions for your website.

What exactly does this mean? What other hosting options are you using for
Frontpage? I initially found 1and1 through this forum, by the way.

Thanks.

It means you will have to start using FTP and cannot HTTP publish, and none
of the features you use that require extensions will function.

Crystal Tech is a good host.

Thank you Tom. I've just gotten back into FP and was surprised by all of
this. I now see that I'm very much out of the loop, to say the least. I'll
take a look at Crystal Tech.

Tom Willett brought next idea :

I've heard that said, from time to time, over the years. But as a
casual user of FP, it's never been clear to me exactly what features
these might be. Is there a cheatsheet available somewhere? <blush>

Yeah, you and me both - that is, I didn't know either

However, someone referred me to this
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/281532/

Some hosts will continue to support FP Extensions for years because FP is so
popular and user-friendly.

I've been extremely happy with Everity.com
Others I was considering several years back include:
cyberland-usa.com
kionic.com
nitrozone.com
Here's a helpful tool.... reviews and feedback are key:

no, 2002 were the last extensions

not sure if its coincidence but i'm also having problems with 1&1 - i used
publisher for teh last 5 year but its now stopped working on 1&1 so i've
switched to frontpage. The problem i have now is that it looks OK in Firefox
but there's no text showing on the homepage and page 1 (other pages fine)
when i use explorer - any ideas?

teapotosolney.co.uk gives a 404 error.
However, http://www.teapotsolney.co.uk/index.htm shows the fault.
This is caused by using Publisher to create pages, and leaving remnants such
as
<![if pub11]> in the code.
Internet explorer will not display the page while this code is present -
however, non-IE browsers will ignore it and display the page normally.
Remove the code (it appears at least twice in the home page) from every
page, and also remove the corresponding
<![Endif]> tags.
