Hello,

I have an internal website. I would like to have a frindly
name for it. The issue lies with Security. I need to share
this site thru a VPN tunnel .

I need ALA to = 192.168.20.2:5150 Can this be done thru
Win2K DNS?

Thank you

Kevin

Not with the port number, using a browser you would have to add the port
after the FQDN such as www.example.com:5150 if there were a way to make a
browser query a SRV record which can specify a port but then you would have
to think of a way to make every browser in the world query the SRV record.

DNS cannot do the port redirection. This would have to be manually added into the browser. DNS will only resolve the name to
an IP address.

Can also suggest to use redirection to the private URL with that port thru
IIS. Eg. all requests to www.domain.com will be redirected (in IIS) to
www.anotherdomain.com:5150.
