I created a website and have tried for 2 days to get it published in my
Fatcow account. After 5 livechats, still no go. Should I turn off AVG 8.5?
Any suggestions welcome. I'm ready for a new host.

Not enough information to even begin troubleshooting.

Do NOT turn off anti-virus while connected to the Internet.

What steps are you taking to publish the site - exact steps?
What eror messages are you getting - the exact wording is required?
Are FrontPage extensions installed on your Fatcow account?
Are you using FTP or HTTP to publish?

I would be guessing but I don't think it would be an AVG problem - if this
is the AVG full security suite (including Firewall) then perhaps the F/W is
blocking FP from accessing the net.

Your F/W would probably popup an alert, if some unexpected program was
trying to access Port 80/21. But since you want to allow FP access to the
net you may need to add it to your "safe/trusted programs" (i.e. Exception)
list.

This reply is on the assumption you haven't already check these issues so
maybe I'm not telling you anything you don't already know.

Good Luck.
