Horrible VCD qualtiy

I made a VCD using MM and Nero. The quality was terrible! I remember making a VCD about a year ago (That's about how often I do this stuff) using a different program; either Pinnacle, or Vegas Video, and the quality was pretty good. I tried using MM this time, because I don't do this very often and the learning curve is very short.

Using MM and Nero, what are the steps I need to take to make the best quality VCD possible…….or do I simply need to use a different program for capturing and rendering

Thanks

I don't know what Nero is, but I've made very good quality VCD's with MM.
Just need to make sure you start with a good quality video, good codecs and
select a good media format to save into.

"Nero" is "Nero-Burning Rom".

What are the exact steps (or settings) you take to "capture" then "save" (which I guess is the same as rendering) the edited video in MM?

Then what program do you use to creat your VCD?

I am using MM2 to do the video with music, titles, transitions. Just
did a movie/slide show of a wedding that turned out pretty good. I
used Nero 6 to burn it with as a SVCD and a VCD for those whose DVD
player could not play a SVCD. I just added the MM2 WMV file into Nero
and let it burn. It took a while to do it, but both turned out very
good.
Best of luck with yours.

Don't let Nero do the encoding to VCD.
Use TMPGEnc instead.

NERO was the culprit. I used TMPGEnc and the quality was much better
