Hi,

I've recently bought a scanner : HP scanjet 2400. When scanning, the
scanned image appears with multicolor horizontal lines, in the preview
and also in the final image.

I tried uninstalling et installing again the software, but with no
results.

Any help is greatly appreciated

Have you ever gotten a good scan with that scanner?

If you bought it used, You may have a power supply problem.
If the power supply is not supplying clean DC power, the lines could be line
voltage ripple.

Thanks a lot for your suggestion !
Indeed, the scanner is new as well as the power supply
But, I have a second scanner HP Scanjet 3670 which has a similar power
supply (12V) but more powerful : 1250mA instead of 700mA for the first
one.
I connected the 1250mA power supply to the HP scanjet 2400 and the
lines disappear

Thank you very much

You are welcome.

700 ma sounds under powered for a scanner.

I have not been impressed by HP scanners I have had. You might wish to
try an Epson.
