I have a horizonatal line at the top of the detail section
set to hairline. It prints perfect on page one, then when
page 2 and further print, it's not there. I get however,
one or two black lines that are a pt thicker, and one grey
line that is about 5 or 6pt thicker.

how do i fix the line problem, or where should i start
looking

i'm previewing first, and all lines there on every page in
preview. when printing, the lines are there on page one,
but subsequent pages don't have it seperating the one-
liner details. I do get one or two thicker lines near the
top in wrong location, and a greyish thicker line down
near bottom half. It is a default report corporte style
in landscape.

i'm actually trying to recreate the problem in my
database, to help fix someones database that they won't
let me have access to. when they print to an HP printer
it works fine, but the Xerox printer has the problem.
Xerox print drivers are very detailed, whereas HP drivers
are more forgiving. It's more cost effective to use the
Xerox printer than it is the HP (approx. 4-5 cents per
page savings) for this daily long report.

Any ideas on how to recreate the problem, so I can figure
out how to correct the problem?

The problem is with the print driver or printer if it previews correctly.
Therefore to test the problem would require the same driver and printer. As
I said in my previous post, making the line thicker often solves the
problem. Another method that may be worth a go is to draw the line using VB
code.
