Hi,

My Computer Setup:
===================
CPU: Pentium 4, 2.8Ghz.
Motherboard: ASUS P4P800, latest BIOS.
Memory: Geil 512Kx4 Dual chanel, Total 2GB.
Video Card: WinFast 6600GT. (AGP)
HardDrive1: WesternDigital WD1200-JB
HardDrive2: Maxtor 6Y120M0
DVD-Rom: NEC ND-3520AW

My problem:
============
Once in a while I get a blue screen with KERNEL-STACK-INPAGE ERROR...

What I've tried:
=================
* I've check for viruses... nothing.
* I run ChkDsk, the results are just fine.

* I have 4 sticks of 512MB, so I used only one of them and run
MemTest86...
MemTest86 allways hanged after about 6-10Min. and most of the times on
Test #7, which is "Random number sequence".
I've tried with another stick... and the same thing happend...
I've tried on a different slot, and the same thing still happend...

What can it be???????????
ANYTHING WILL HELP!

Thanks

Start by looking in cmos to see if you can set more conservative
memory timings.
Mainboard, power supply video card or cpu after that.

Just did... I've changed the timings of the memoty to lower than auto,
and still system hangs...
this time not on test #7... but hanged...

Do you have access to any other computers that could work with this
ram? If so, plug it in and do a memtest.

Did this ram always act up? If so it may just not be compatible. If
your power supply is cheap junk, you might want to start with a good
name-brand supply. Trying some name-brand ram might also be
worthwhile.

There was a problem with the BIOS "Legacy USB" support option.
If it is disabled, the memtest hangs may stop. I cannot remember which
test was the one where the hanging was noticed. And when I look
at the release notes for memtest86+, I don't see mention of
that problem being fixed. But it must have been fixed somewhere
along the line.

Before you change that BIOS setting, make sure you have a PS/2
keyboard handy, so you can change the Legacy support setting
back again later.

I've used this memory for more than two years now...
I'm not sure about the power suply...

I guess that I'll take the computer to my work place and (late at night
:-)) replace the memory, do a memtest and know where the problem is...
hope that it's the power suply, I don't want to buy a new mobo.

Thanks for the reply
