I have a wierd problem that hopefully I can get some
advice on. Each time I start up my system and log on to
aol, an instance of IE opens up automatically to a search
page called "searchmeup.net, and I find that my home page
has always been changed from msn.com to something
called "startpage" (which doesn't seem to be an actual
webpage, because each time you attempt to go to it, it
says that the page cannot be displayed). More recently,
as in yesterday (1-23-04), something else interesting has
happened. Each time I try to go to Google's search page,
this same page (searchmeup.net) loads instead, and
Google's page (s) don't seem to exist anymore. Anyone
have any Ideas why this would happen and how to stop it?

Thanx in advance for any help.

Rashid,

Note: this type hijack indicates an unpatched machine, that is lacking
in "Defense". Please visit Windows Update to avoid these exploits.
