I upgraded from ie6 to ie7 and my homepage became acer.yahoo.com. i read
online they (acer and yahoo) have an agreement and are partnered for
searching as is dell with google. i have an acer travelmate 4230. Anyway I
tried to normally change my homepage, it wouldn't work. then i went into the
registry to try and change it. I ended up deleting the string value for
Start Page and now get an about:blank everytime i open IE. I tried
uninstalling and reinstalling that didn't work. What do I need to do just to
get my homepage assigning ability back. Thanks

And did you back-up any/all Registry keys before you altered them?

Do you have an available Restore Point that predates the changes to the
Registry but postdates the install of IE7?

I tried to do a system restore, but all the dates I've selected for the
restore have come back saying windows is unable to restore your system to
that date.

I did't back up the registry keys before I deleted the Start Page value

Hi,
If you only edited one registry key and know which one, I could send a REG
file to replace that key. Do you know which key it was?
