Question - In frontpage 2000 how should my homopage/Index
page be labeled?. When I upload my index page itis
labeled Index.htm and it is not directed to my domain
name. Another page is directed to my domain name that I
deleted. My home page appears as domain.com/index.htm. and
does not appear when I type in the domain name, the other
page does. I am at a lost for this one. Thank you
George

A Home page is simply the default file name that the server uses when you
type a URL without specifying a file name. It can be "default.htm",
"default.asp", "index.htm", "index.html", and a whole slew of others. Your
domain name is simply the base URL for your web site. For example, I have a
web site at www.takempis.com. "takempis.com" is my domain name. The Home
page is named "default.asp". If you simply type "http://www.takempis.com" in
your browser, my server will serve up the default Home page, which is
"default.asp". If you want your "index page" to be the Home Page, it must be
named with the default home page file name on your domain web server.

You need to rename your home, Index.htm to index.htm. You site is hosted on
a Unix/Linux server, Index.htm and index.htm is considered to separate
files, whereas under Windows, they would be considered one and the same.
