The computer is on a cable connection, but when Internet Explorer is clicked
the homepage seems slow loading, since it is a cable connection.
Is there a remedy for this? Thank You.

James

Andy I don`t think it would be server or cable modem problems since after
the homepage loads, the computer goes at a fast speed.. Could too many icons
icons on the desktop cause the homepage to load slow, and would it help to
defrag?

No, the number of icons on your Desktop would not cause this issue. No,
defragging has nothing to do with your problem. Here are a few
suggestions:

1. Try a different homepage. Are you able to access it quickly now? The
Yahoo homepages that my clients use do seem to load rather slowly.
There is a lot of data on those pages. If using another page (try
Google for instance) is fast, then you know there's nothing wrong with
your connection. It's just a slow site.

2. As always, make sure your computer is virus/malware-free:

3. Did this issue always happen or is it a new thing? If the latter,
what changed between the time things worked and the time they didn't?

Thank ou Malke, I did try Google as a homepage and it seemed to load
faster. James

Then you know it's just the website. Thanks for updating the thread.
