My homepage defaults to http://your-search.cc/
when i change it it changes to whaever I change it to
but the next day it goes back to http://your-search.cc/

what can i do?
its very annoying
also is this symtomatic of another more serious problem/virus

Your browser was hijacked. Get hijack this from
http://mjc1.com/mirror/hjt/
some good tutorials are on that site as well as
http://hjt.wizardsofwebsites.com/

Be careful as this could really mess your pc up. Read the tutorial or
post the results here or on a hijack this forum.

Maybe Spybot s&d would also help remove it. http://www.safer-

your HiJackThis log at one of the forums below. They will evaluate the
HJT logs for you.

If you know what you're doing, you could easily fix it in the registry. If
this is as a result of you viewing a "legit" website, they have to provide a
"cleaner".
Either way, it's a pain in the whotsit.

Homepage hijacks with a search page are usually the CoolWebSearch
malware. It is very hard to get rid of. Try the solution - the
CWShredder. Read about it here:

That page does not describe the symptoms posted by the OP, who said
the browser *homepage* was being changed to http://your-search.cc/

In fact, this page:
http://www.kephyr.com/spywarescanner/library/coolwebsearch.xplugin/index.phtml
a CoolWebSearch help does mention the xplugin.dll, so the problem /is/
CoolWebSearch hijacker.
