In a Win2k AS environment we have a strange problem.

Situation:
Share => On logon Server: \\MSW2kAS1\Homedrives
Security = Everyone on share, within share Homedrives,
there are dirs for users, only accessable for user only
(and admin offcourse, set on dir security).

Problem explained:

2 machines, identical (Hardware, OS etc).

Machine 1:
User Logs on, gets H:\ mapping for Homedir through AD
setting (not by logonscript) and shows drive H:\ after
connecting and contents of users homedir.

So far so good... But..

Machine 2:
User Logs on, gets H:\ mapping for Homedir through AD
setting (not by logonscript) and shows drive H:\ after
connecting and contents of share homedrives.

This situation was a rollout of 25 machines, all
identical, and no profiles created yet. 5 of them are
showing this problem, new image on machine doesn't fix it.

It's driving me nuts...
Has anyone of you encoutered this strange behaviour also ?

If ya have any suggestions, please share them :)

Check %homeshare%, %homedrive%, and %homepath% variables.
Check GPO 'Connect home directory to root of the share' @ 'User
Configuration\Administrative Templates\System\Logon/Logoff' or
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System, dword
ConnectHomeDirToRoot (0 is W2k style, 1 is NT4 one).

..... Jetro ....

Checked it, but GPO -not configured-...
And its in w2k style...

Same machine, other user, no prob..
Removed profiles etc. no go..

Still puzzled .. :/
